Abstract:
This case study details the development of Utah DOT's procedures for managing and maintaining roadway assets. UDOT focused its reform efforts on its maintenance inventories and performance-based measures. UDOT has proactively implemented initiatives to identify and manage the condition and performance of specific roadway assets critical to highway safety. The agency has developed several new systems and strategies to ensure their roadway assets are managed effectively. This report is part of the FHWA Office of Asset Management's series of case studies on TAM, produced with the goal of sharing information between agencies to improve efficiency.
